Justice for Every Child Initiative (JECI)
The Justice for Every Child Initiative (JECI), led by Reserve The Blue, focuses on improving the handling of cases involving children and youth who are victims or involved in the juvenile justice system. Our program provides training and technical assistance to prosecutors to ensure age-appropriate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based investigations and prosecutions.
Key Goals:
Increase Prosecutor Knowledge: Train on adolescent brain development, protective and risk factors, and evidence-based responses.
Improve Child Interviewing Techniques: Provide training in forensic interviewing techniques for cases involving children.
Implement Trauma-Informed Practices: Educate on trauma-informed approaches for interviewing and prosecuting.
Enhance Evidence Presentation Skills: Develop skills for presenting evidence effectively in court.
