Grit & Glory Youth Rodeo Program (GGYRP)

About the Program

The Grit & Glory Youth Rodeo Program (GGYRP) is a new initiative under Reserve The Blue, designed to empower young people through the tradition, discipline, and excitement of rodeo. This program helps youth develop the resilience (grit) and pride (glory) needed to face challenges in life, while building positive connections with mentors, role models, and the community.

Rodeo is more than a sport — it teaches responsibility, courage, teamwork, and respect. Through GGYRP, young participants gain access to safe, structured rodeo training and events that prepare them not only for competition, but also for success in school, careers, and community leadership.

Program Goals

  • Youth Empowerment: Instilling discipline, confidence, and self-worth in young riders.

  • Skill Development: Teaching the fundamentals of rodeo — from riding and roping to sportsmanship and safety.

  • Mentorship: Connecting youth with experienced riders, coaches, and positive community role models.

  • Community Engagement: Hosting events that bring families, neighbors, and law enforcement together in a fun, uplifting atmosphere.

  • Opportunities for Growth: Opening pathways for scholarships, competitions, and future careers in agriculture, sports, or leadership.

How It Works

  1. Training & Clinics

    • Youth will participate in rodeo clinics led by experienced riders and trainers.

    • Focus on safety, discipline, and skill progression.

  2. Youth Rodeo Events

    • Competitions tailored for beginners and advancing youth athletes.

    • A supportive environment where effort and growth are celebrated as much as winning.

  3. Mentorship & Life Skills

    • Rodeo as a platform for teaching responsibility, teamwork, and resilience.

    • Pairing youth with mentors, including community leaders and law enforcement officers, to promote mutual respect and accountability.

  4. Scholarship & Advancement Opportunities

    • Creating opportunities for young athletes to pursue rodeo at higher levels.

    • Encouraging pathways into leadership, education, and personal development.

Why Grit & Glory?

The name “Grit & Glory” represents the balance of hard work and the joy of achievement. Rodeo athletes must have grit to push through challenges, and they earn glory by showing courage and character.

This program celebrates that balance, showing young people that true glory is not just about winning — it’s about integrity, perseverance, and respect both inside and outside the arena.
